My Pink Tree

I had a great blog post all written up with video of the massive fit that Nathan threw last night over a balloon...it had us all in stitches...but the video won't load because it's too big! Gah!

So, you get to see my pink tree instead. I have it in my kitchen. It doesn't match anything or have any ornaments on it, but I love it. It makes me happy. And that is all I have to say about that.

Hopefully I will have something more exciting to say soon! Right now it's all about getting ready for the holidays and for our exciting trip up North! Can't wait!

Tuesday Morning's Completely Pointless Blog Post

It's a rainy Tuesday and we all have colds, so the plan for the day has changed. Instead of going to the gym and running errands and cleaning, I have parked myself on the couch. Nathan is taking an early nap(or so I hope...I hear him in there babbling to himself) so I have about an hour before I pick up Thomas. I could:

a. Take a shower
b. Fold laundry
c. Read my bible
d. Take a nap
e. Work on Christmas cards

I don't know...a nap might win this one.

A Tribute to Tim Andrew

This morning I received an email from my brother, Tim Andrew, who lives in Portland, OR. The subject line was "A Thanksgiving Article". I have been increasingly inspired by him. Over the past 6 years (timeframe may vary) he has taken to surfing. It started out as a hobby and something that he bagan (I believe) in his 30's.

Over the past six months he and I have spoken. On several occasions he would make mention that he has been surfing in Lincoln City, Oregon. Recently discovered big wave surfing in Oregon has resulted in Mavericks like attention (http://www.mavsurfer.com/main_page/).

In any case, he go honerable mention in an article posted on www.towsurfer.com. Two of the most well known big wave surfers were out on Thanksgiving day with some 15' swells - and he was with the crew surfing, towing, etc...

It blows me aways. But he is hanging and surfing with some of the best in the world.

More Monday thoughts

Nathan just threw another plate of food on the floor. Sigh!

Dark chocolate M&M's are about the best dang thing you can pop into your mouth. I bought a bag for my friend Kelly, but now I'm eating them so I'll have to buy her another bag.

The trees out in front of our house turned bright red in just a couple of days. Unbelievable! They are just stunning. I look out there a hundred times a day just to see them.

I was checking in the take-home books this morning in Wesley's class and one little girl had brought her envelope but no book. I asked her if she had it in her bag and she started to cry, and said it was on her bookshelf at home. You're not supposed to give the kid a new book till they bring back the one they have. I noticed that she hadn't gotten a book in almost a month. I gave her a book anyway and she said, "I love to read." Hey, I'll pay the five bucks if the book is lost. GIVE THE GIRL A BOOK!

Thanksgiving is coming and I have such good memories of so many Thanksgivings together. Since we live far from most of our family, often we spend it with friends instead and this year is no exception. I am beyond excited to be spending it with Jonathan and Kelly and their kids, and I am making my famous peanut butter tart!

Heroes is on tonight and I can hardly wait. I love this show. Who's good and who's bad? It's just like real life, it depends on your perspective. Well, except for Sylar. I think we can all agree he's just bad. haha
