How Many?

How many sugar skulls did we get to celebrate Day of the Dead last week? 3.

How many lasted long enough to take to school? 1.

How many times is Thomas going to wind up in our bed, afraid of something? Last night it was six. It's been several per night for about a month now. We're getting tired.

How many pieces of broccoli caused the 30 minute drama caught on camera last night? ONE.

How many more days do we have to wait until we can put up Christmas decorations? hehe

How many school fundraiser packets are we going to get? And how many do we have to participate in without feeling guilty for either shoving them down co-workers' throats, or neglecting our childrens' schools?

How many coffees is one person allowed to have in a day? The jury is still out. Two down, there may be more.

How many pumpkin candles does it take to make a 1000 square foot house smell GREAT? Three!

Random Pre-Halloween thoughts

It's Tuesday night, I'm watching the news because we had an earthquake earlier tonight. It was 5.6, not huge or anything, but the first significant one I've felt in the six years we've lived in the Bay area. We were watching Casper with the boys and their eyes got really big when they felt it and I said, "Earthquake!" No worries, all is well.

Tomorrow is Halloween and the last day of the Pokemon costumes. We will post pictures of course. They have already worn them several times so I'm more than ready for them to be done...each costume has about a million pieces and we are always searching for a lost glove or hat or something.

Fall is here! I made a big pot of chili and cornbread today to give to some friends who just had a preemie baby, and we enjoyed our share immensely. Tip: Put it in a taco shell and the kids never know what they are really eating. haha

The birthday parties are done! A fine time was had by all. Wesley and his buddies are such good swimmers and snaps to the Y for the free party room. Loved it!

Happy Fall to All. :)

October Stuff

No, we have not dropped off the face of the earth. Although that might be fun...

We are just in October, the partyest month of the year in the Andrew Family. We've had what seems like dozens of birthday parties, my mother here in town for a week, and of course...Halloween! So, we've been busy. Taking lots of pictures, but not around the computer much. Jason is away tonight and it's quiet, so I can catch up a little.

I actually am volunteering a little bit this year too and it is a big step for me. I have usually just been overwhelmed with my own life and family, but I have felt this gnawing inside that I'm not doing jack squat to help anyone else. So, I am going into Wesley's school once a week, and Thomas' school at random times, and we are doing some serving at church. I feel massive anxiety about not being able to keep up, but so far both the first graders and our small group friends are very gracious. haha I think it is good but I have to take it a day at a time or I just can't sleep. I always thought I was a relaxed person, but I think it's time to admit I'm a freak. So there you go.

Wesley's REAL birthday is in a couple of days. He is so excited to be six! Thomas has a whole new spirit of willfulness since he turned four. And Nathan...well, he just likes to eat the cake. As shown in Exhibit A: Thomas' party...

And Exhibit B...Wesley's party.

My middle guy is 4 years old today!

Thomas is determined, smart, athletic, strong, loving, kind and hilarious. Our lives are so much richer because of him. Happy birthday big boy...we love you!
