Homework Time

I cannot seem to get the hang of homework. Not the work itself...although I can't read most of it because it's in Spanish...but just the DOING of the homework. There always seems to be something else to do. I have tried asking Jason to help me remember, but frankly, he's worse at remembering than I am. So, a couple of times a week, I actually get Wesley sat down and working. Right now he's reading me a poem in Spanish and writing it over again. I just love this! If I could only remember and get the stuff turned in now...

Nine months in, nine months out

A baby turning nine months old is always sort of a milestone for me. It means that said baby has been outside for longer than they were inside! It makes me a little sad because I know I can't protect them the same way I did before they were born...I have to share them with others...and they will never be so completely dependent on me as they were. On the other hand, someone else can carry them, feed them...and I get to see those sweet smiles. Nathan has this new thing where he scrunches up his nose and sniffles in, out, in, out. Then he laughs. It's SO funny...at least to me! (It's probably one of those psycho mom things) Anyway, here's my nine month old with his sock monkeys...I put the final product in his sock monkey blog but I was cracking up at the process of trying to get a good photo. It's harder now than it used to be, he doesn't just sit there anymore!

Snow Weekend

We joined a lot of our friends in Strawberry this weekend for some sledding and snowball fighting. It was a great time! Not much snow...but to our California boys, it was enough. Strange how the rest of the country has too much and we have hardly any. There were lots of misadventures including an 8 hour trip to the ER with the Leons' sick baby, to my suitcase falling off the roof of the van and getting run over by another car, but a fine time was had by all. We couldn't believe how ACTUALLY relaxing it was, even with six adults and six kids under 6 in a condo. This is going to be a must for next year!

The smiles are coming back

We are on the road to recovery! Jason is back at work today, and the boys seem to be doing a lot better. That pink stuff does wonders. Nathan and I met our friends Karen and Dylan at Stanford mall today to do a little Valentine shopping. It was so nice to get outside and see other humans. We needed a little retail therapy. :)

MIA again

As soon as we got our memory card back, everything went a little haywire.

Jason got pneumonia.

I took the kids in to the doctor just in case, since they had been coughing a lot for a couple of weeks.

Wesley had a sinus infection.
Thomas has a double ear infection.
Nathan has an ear infection.

So, seven days, five bottles of amoxycillin and a Z-pack later, I am finally getting a chance to blog. It has been a brutal week. I didn't realize just HOW much I rely on Jason for both help with the family and just emotional support. We also had six out of town family members for the weekend, a last minute call to be lead teachers in the three year old class at church, and the usual school things to stay on top of. I'm definitely ready for a vacation...but that isn't happening anytime soon! I think this week has taught me to find solace in unlikely places. In prayer...sometimes in prayer in the shower. In little snuggles from Nathan. In holding hands with Thomas and a hug from my hubby. In a --gasp!--two mile RUN. In a few minutes on Ebay. haha

Anyway, here's to a healthier week next week. Nobody is completely healthy yet, but hopefully we are on the way.
