More Monday thoughts

Nathan just threw another plate of food on the floor. Sigh!

Dark chocolate M&M's are about the best dang thing you can pop into your mouth. I bought a bag for my friend Kelly, but now I'm eating them so I'll have to buy her another bag.

The trees out in front of our house turned bright red in just a couple of days. Unbelievable! They are just stunning. I look out there a hundred times a day just to see them.

I was checking in the take-home books this morning in Wesley's class and one little girl had brought her envelope but no book. I asked her if she had it in her bag and she started to cry, and said it was on her bookshelf at home. You're not supposed to give the kid a new book till they bring back the one they have. I noticed that she hadn't gotten a book in almost a month. I gave her a book anyway and she said, "I love to read." Hey, I'll pay the five bucks if the book is lost. GIVE THE GIRL A BOOK!

Thanksgiving is coming and I have such good memories of so many Thanksgivings together. Since we live far from most of our family, often we spend it with friends instead and this year is no exception. I am beyond excited to be spending it with Jonathan and Kelly and their kids, and I am making my famous peanut butter tart!

Heroes is on tonight and I can hardly wait. I love this show. Who's good and who's bad? It's just like real life, it depends on your perspective. Well, except for Sylar. I think we can all agree he's just bad. haha

Monday

Monday afternoon here, it's a school holiday so the house is full. Wesley's doing his homework, I learn so much Spanish just by talking through it with him. Thomas is playing Legos on the floor. Nathan is napping...amazing that we can keep the noise level low enough for him to sleep!

Fall is here, the weather is finally cool and there are huge piles of leaves in the streets. I love our neighborhood because it is full of mature trees that drop tons of leaves. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week already! I'm sounding like an old person here but where does the time go?

I signed up for my first 5k race on Thanksgiving morning. Jason is going to run with me so I am really excited. I know it's the tiniest race you can run, but I have never run any race at all so it will be an accomplishment for me. AND, I can eat pumpkin pie afterward without guilt. haha

Oh, the photos...last week when the boys were watching TV I found them in the basket. Then Nathan decided he wanted his own basket. I thought it was just too funny.

Have a good week everyone!

How Many?

How many sugar skulls did we get to celebrate Day of the Dead last week? 3.

How many lasted long enough to take to school? 1.

How many times is Thomas going to wind up in our bed, afraid of something? Last night it was six. It's been several per night for about a month now. We're getting tired.

How many pieces of broccoli caused the 30 minute drama caught on camera last night? ONE.

How many more days do we have to wait until we can put up Christmas decorations? hehe

How many school fundraiser packets are we going to get? And how many do we have to participate in without feeling guilty for either shoving them down co-workers' throats, or neglecting our childrens' schools?

How many coffees is one person allowed to have in a day? The jury is still out. Two down, there may be more.

How many pumpkin candles does it take to make a 1000 square foot house smell GREAT? Three!

Random Pre-Halloween thoughts

It's Tuesday night, I'm watching the news because we had an earthquake earlier tonight. It was 5.6, not huge or anything, but the first significant one I've felt in the six years we've lived in the Bay area. We were watching Casper with the boys and their eyes got really big when they felt it and I said, "Earthquake!" No worries, all is well.

Tomorrow is Halloween and the last day of the Pokemon costumes. We will post pictures of course. They have already worn them several times so I'm more than ready for them to be done...each costume has about a million pieces and we are always searching for a lost glove or hat or something.

Fall is here! I made a big pot of chili and cornbread today to give to some friends who just had a preemie baby, and we enjoyed our share immensely. Tip: Put it in a taco shell and the kids never know what they are really eating. haha

The birthday parties are done! A fine time was had by all. Wesley and his buddies are such good swimmers and snaps to the Y for the free party room. Loved it!

Happy Fall to All. :)
