There have been a number of very cool things happening this week. Mostly, with Wesley's development. I am amazed at the things he is doing and how fun he really is. First of all, several nights ago we were all at the dinner table. Wesley continually asked Wendy for some cheese. She said no. He continued to ask. Finally, he realized he was dealing with a mom who has nerves of steal. She was not going to give him more cheese. Then, with only about a second pause, he looks at my sandwich. Realizing there was cheese in my turkey sandwich, he says, "daddy, bite?" I couldn't believe it! What could I do? He didn't ask for cheese. And I certainly could not turn down his request for a bite if my sandwich.
Then last night we are laying on the floor. I had my arms up above my head. He looks at them and says, "slide". Then proceeds to pretend that my arms are a slide and heads down. I was amazed at his imagination.
Wendy is doing very good. She only have about 3-4 weeks until Thomas is born. At this point, she simply wants him out! However, she has been amazing. I don't know that I could work full time, raise a two year old, put up with me and be pregnant. I would whine like a baby everyday. She just does it!
On Saturday, I took Wesley out for a run on the peninsula. It was early and and I wanted to get in a good run before Wendy woke up. About half way out Wesley wanted to walk. So I let him out of the stroller. He was not interested in running, however, and wanted to sit in the dirt and throw rocks. I really appreciate the lessons he teaches me. I was anxious and wanted to get back, finish my run, etc. He was content, however, to sit in the dirt, throw rocks - and he was very focused on making sure I had a rock that he chose for me to throw as well.
He helps me to slow down and appreciate things. Anyway, I will have more later.
