Sick in Bed

On Tuesday night I went with some friends to play golf at a local 3-par course in Foster City. I had stayed home from church on Sunday due to being sick. Then on Monday and Tuesday went into work still feeling a little ill but overall OK. After golf I came home and was not doing well at all. The next morning a fever hit and all the other fun symptoms of the flu. I have been in bed since... Wonder what I look like after two days in bed?

Not a pretty sight!

But then I looked out the window next to our bed and saw something much, much more encouraging. Wendy and the boys are all outside like four angels. Thomas has his outdoor hat, not shirt or shoes and orange shorts.

I have watched him do everything from slamming a hammer on the groud, ride his scooter, eat pirates booty (they all are eating out of the same bag) and just run around. Every now and then Wesley shows up in the scene on his bike going back and forth.

Wendy is sitting in her chair next to Nathan in his. Both of them are swinging their feet back and forth as though they coordinated their movements. I am very glad that I am here to witness what Wendy gets to do everyday. It is alot of work for her. But she also gets to spend time with them in a way that I don't experience. Maybe I got sick to experience this moment?
