Weekend update

At the moment I am ready to lose my ever loving mind with these children. I think we are going on seven weeks of constant wrestling, screeching, fighting, asking for food, dumping bins of toys and repeat. I think school starts in four more. I may be in the mental ward by then! No really, we have actually had a lot of fun times this summer and it has been nice to not have to be anywhere at 8:00am...but today I have just had enough of packing bags and making snacks, so we don't have an outing planned for today. Unfortunately no outing = more noise and chaos right here at home. Sigh.

At any rate, here are some pictures of my crazies playing in the yard over the past week or two.They love blowing bubbles and it's a cheap thrill.




We have been eating dinner outside almost every night, and this is one of the major reasons why.

What day is it again?

In the summer the days seem to blend together into one long session of eating, cleaning, going to the park, loading kids in the car, getting kids out of the car, packing bags, cleaning out bags, doing dishes, and once in awhile, sleeping. I think today is Tuesday. I only know this because Wesley is at DAY CAMP this week. I am such a sap, I cry at everything my kid does. I almost lost it dropping him off the first day. Now I know why you did it, Nancy and Joanie! Every little stepping stone is a big deal. It's been quieter with only two kids around during the day...I have become the master of the three on one, so this is like taking a break! haha

Anyway, we haven't been using the camera much the past couple of weeks, but here's one of Nathan at the beach during our camping trip at Morro Bay a couple weeks ago. I'm actually going to start uploading the Europe trip pictures too. Keep checking back because it will take me awhile!

Yep, it's July!

Hot, hot, and more hot here. We've got the house like a cave and we're in the water every chance we get. I'm having a great time with the boys on our summer vacation. We watch a lot of Scooby-Doo, we have been to one water park after another, today we shared a Yumi Yogurt...we're really having a good time. Yesterday we worked on getting our house together (yes, it's still a work in progress after two months), then we took the boys swimming. Wesley and Thomas have become amazing swimmers. All those lessons are paying off! It was so fun watching them cannonball off the diving board yesterday. Nathan is not far behind, he loves to do whatever they do. He is trying to walk, he gets as far as standing up and clapping for himself before he falls down. I know it won't be long now!

We had a great bbq with the Hudgins last night and then the big boys went to the fireworks while the babies got to bed, they just couldn't hang. Hope you all had a great 4th!

Summer vacation!

Ok, we are back from our trip and have been for almost a week, why can I not get caught up? We had an amazing time and France, Spain and Italy are definitely still on the list of places to visit again. One of these days I will get the pictures up on the Europe blog and share them with you.

In the meantime, everyone is out of school which severely hinders my ability to do anything other than PLAY. As I type, Thomas is repeatedly telling me Nathan is trying to eat the Legos, and he can't because he will choke on them...Wesley is telling me that R2D2 is more famous than Spongebob...and Nathan is screaming because the boys left their bedroom without him. It's been quite a week...never had all three with me full time for more than a couple of weeks before. The next 7 weeks should be interesting! If you don't see any blogging, you know where I am!

Falling Behind

Summer is already moving faster than I can keep up with. I have pictures to share that I hadn't even downloaded yet! Since the last entry, we had a visit with my oldest (meaning longest-lasting) friend, Kate. We have known each other since my first day of sixth grade when we were 10 years old. She has an incredible family, her boys showed my boys the fine survival skill of finger knitting, and they got along famously. They live in Anchorage so I wish we could see them more often, but it was a real treat to see Kate and Todd and even Grandma Betty.



Jason will share thoughts from his father/son fishing trip to the Snake River, I'm sure he will be mad at me for posting a picture of it but I just thought this was the greatest shot of three of my favorite guys. My dad, my brother Martin, and my firstborn Wesley.

We're off to Spain in less than 36 hours! *jumping up and down* We will have lots of pics and stories for you when we get back!
