It's a BOY!

Yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound, and we got the big news...we now have 3 boys! I feel very safe now, because I have my own posse. hehe

We are so happy that Baby Boy is looking perfect and growing well. He weighs 15 ounces and everything is where it is supposed to be. It was so overwhelming getting my first look at my last baby boy...I cannot wait to meet him and find out what he is going to be like.

The older boys are excited as well. They said they wanted a sister, but when I told Wesley the news, he got the biggest smile on his face and I knew everything was going to be all right.

A fun overnight...

Last night Wendy and I had a chance to go out and enjoy a night on the town in San Francisco on behalf of Kaiser. They are one of the carriers I work with. It was very nice! We went with 3 other couples to a nice dinner at Azies, then it was off (in a limo) to see cirque de soule's corteo and finally an overnight at the W Hotel - a very swank place.

We had a great time. It was very relaxing, fun and I had an opportunity to do a little business schmoozing. In any case, we enjoyed it. Thanks to Kristi, our sister in-law, who is pregnant, moving and worked a full day for coming over to watch the boys so we could get some time away! Kari Leon also helped out for a few hours until Kristi could get here. We are very thankful for friends who help out.

And baby me makes three...

This is not a photo of our baby :) It is however, a photo of what our baby looks like at this stage of the game. It is pretty amazing and only 5 days until we find out what he/she is.

20 Weeks
The child can hear and recognize her mother's voice. Though still small and fragile, the baby is growing rapidly and could possibly survive if born at this stage. Fingernails and fingerprints appear. Sex organs are visible. Using an ultrasound device, the doctor can tell if the child is a girl or a boy. The one on the left is a baby girl. Five and a half inches tall and only six ounces in weight, eyebrows, eyelashes and fine hair appear. The child can grasp with his hands, kick, or even somersault.

Rain, rain, go away

Winter is here...and with it the rain. Most of Northern California is having flooding problems...we consider ourselves lucky to live in a relatively stable area. But, yesterday, we had some flooding of our own. We took a few pictures of the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, our playroom sustained some water damage...a huge puddle suddenly disappeared and we knew it had gone under the carpet inside. We had to rip up the carpet and now we are drying out. Ah, the joys of a 1936 house...

And then there's Thomas...

What a Ham! I mean do you see personality here or what? This picture was taken a few months ago. But everytime I see it I just laugh! So I had to post it. Thomas is just over 2 now and full of character, energy and questions. I have to record his voice just so I can refer to it anytime I am discouraged or ungrateful - because it will bring an instant smile and warm your heart.

He wants to imitate everything his brother does. My favorite moments are wrestling with him at night. He is quite a brut and enjoys jumping from anything that he can climb onto. If I dare sit on the ground I become a target. Instantly, as though I were a magnet, he is on me; crawling, jumping and balancing. I become just another object used to trample. It's fun!

When we go outside he constantly tells us, "I smell somsing. It's a fwower." When we go to bed at night or leave to go somewhere (not with him) he wants a hug, a kiss, a small squeeze, a big squeeze and another hub before he will let you go. He also want to escort you to the door and help you out while closing it as you leave. Don't try to lift him in the car, "byself Daddy. Thomas do it byself." His new found independence is raw form. But the flip side of this is the continual frustration and belting out, "Can't do it. Can'd do it - u elp me? Elp me pwease?"

He loves to cuddle. He loves to run. He is quite the boy. He is also a product of Silicon Valley. Everytime we drive down 101 he points out all the Apple billboards and screams, "IPOD!" - I am sure Steve Jobs is quite happy that his marketing is working well.
